United States Fight League presents 2020 U.S. Youth Pankration National Championship

Lake Forest, CA– The USFL would like to announce the next youth pankration (kids MMA) national championship. The event takes place April 25-26, 2020 with assistance from UFC legend and Hall of Fame member Dan Henderson.

Nationals is open to athletes between ages 8 and 17. Athletes between the ages of 12 and 17 will be selected to compete at the 2020 world championships. The world championships are tentatively scheduled for August 6-8 in Rome, Italy under the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation. Dan Henderson’s Athletic Training Center in Temecula, California will host nationals.

Athletes who are 17 years old on April 25 but turn 18 prior to August 6 may participate in the U.S. National Championships but not compete in the IMMAF World Championships. The U.S. are the defending IMMAF youth world champions following the inaugural event in 2019. The national team took home 28 medals, including 16 gold.

All participants must have an active USFL license to participate. Please visit FightLeague.org for licensing and further information. Volunteer coaches will be on-hand to assist non-attached athletes. The registration cutoff date for nationals is April 18, 2020.

“We must continue to drive forward and acknowledge that last year’s accomplishment guarantees nothing without participation and hard work by coaches and athletes at the local level,” USFL President Jon Frank said. “I’m looking forward to a great national championship where the top talent in the U.S. come together to sharpen each other’s tools.”

The USFL serves as the youth development affiliate for the USA Mixed Martial Arts Kick International Federation (UMMAF) of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF.) The IMMAF is a UFC-partnered global sanctioning body for amateur mixed martial arts with a goal of Olympic recognition for the sport.
