Freelance: Is Enomoto Going to See Out 2016 with a BANG at ACB MMA 50?
Yasubey Enomoto, “The Swiss Samurai” will once again represent Enomoto Dojo, but will do so in Russia with his first appearance in ACB (Absolute Championship Berkut) MMA 50 against Igor “Lionheart” Svirid.
Enomoto’s originally scheduled contest in Poland against 12-3 UFC veteran Maciej Jewtuszko set for KSW 37: Circus of Pain was unexpectedly cancelled.
Acting quickly, Absolute Championship Berkut (ABC MMA) have placed him on their historic 50th card opposite Igor “Lionheart” Svirid, taking place on December 18 from the Sibur Arena in St. Petersburg. Enomoto (15-8 in MMA with five submissions and 7-2 kickboxer) enjoyed a run with Russia’s M-1 Global promotion between 2011 and 2012. He captured M-1’s welterweight championship during this time.
After the trying time that is cutting weight, Enomoto, the grizzly veteran of the cage has only two things on his mind: giving that fans something they won’t soon forget and, of course, victory!
“I am happy me and @acb_mma were able to fix this fight against strong opponent @igor.svirid…I am excited that my hard training won’t be for nothing and we will put on a great show for the #fans guarantee” Enomoto posted on social media.
This will be his first performance under ACB MMA and will prove to be a challenging one against Svirid, a former ACB champion as well as a former champion for then ONE FC (Asia’s homegrown UFC-level promotion) a 10-3 fighter with the majority of his finishes also by submission.
As Enomoto looks for one final win to even out his 2016, he wants to send Svirid back to his native Kazakhstan riding a back-to-back-to-back losing streak in his last three outings heading into the new year.
Can “The Swiss Samurai” put down this lion in his own den? We can’t wait to find out!
