Freelance: Is Jon Jones the Luckiest Unlucky Man Alive?
As Lenglife’s own Brooks Warman wrote previously, Jon Jones mentioned in an Instagram video over the weekend that he had good news but could not yet discuss the details of his situation with/indefinite suspension by the U.S, Anti-Doping Agency but that things were looking up. For once, he might actually be right.
UFC President Dana White was on Jim Rome’s radio show yesterday and quite simply said, “Well, it’s coming back now that it looks like he did not take the supplement that everybody thought he took.”
As reported by many outlets, Jones tested positive for a pair of estrogen blockers–common for athletes coming off of steroid use.
“…It looks like it’s something else. I’ll let this thing play out and if that’s true and that’s what USADA and the Nevada State Athletic Commission say happened, it could look good for Jon Jones” White continued on.“…the substance that he was on, it was a pill that you take when you’re coming off of steroids. But this thing is apparently in other things. Jon took something else. Where he doesn’t come off clean is you have to tell USADA everything that you put in your body leading up to the fight and he did not.”
The situation is still ongoing and Jones’ return remains unknown. This latest development could be a positive for the hulking Brock Lesnar who tested positive for one of the same estrogen blockers (clomiphene) as Jones. There have not been any new developments.
There have not been any new developments with Lesnar in the MMA sector at this time although Inquisitr.com noted yesterday that since Lesnar is on part-time status with WWE, he is not drug tested and “doesn’t fall under any sort of penalty by the Wellness Policy.”
He faces Randy Orton in the main event of WWE’s “SummerSlam” on Sunday.
