UFC Vet Ryan Jimmo Killed

After USA Today’s MMAJunkie.com initially reported the death of former UFC fighter Ryan “The Big Deal” Jimmo, the news has since been confirmed by a relative. While the Edmonton Police Service have not declared Jimmo as the victim, his aunt, Sharon informed the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation of his death Sunday night according to MMAFighting.com.

Jimmo was reported to have been involved in a short verbal exchange while in a lounge parking lot with individuals in another vehicle before a hit-and-run incident.

Although he was released by the promotion last year, Jimmo’s most notable accomplishment during his three year stint with UFC was one for the record books: a 7-second knockout of Anthony Perosh at UFC 149.

The investigation is ongoing. Jimmo was 19-5 in MMA (8 KOs.) He had not fought since his last UFC event in May of last year.

MMAFighting’s Marc Raimondi wrote that officials are asking anyone with information to call 780-423-4567.
