Mitrione Gets Comeback KO in Debut at Dynamite 2
*Written on location–Scottrade Center, St. Louis MO
Bellator got it’s second installment of Dynamite off to the best possible start it could think of with the debut of UFC veteran Matt Mitrione. Originally from Illinois’ capital city, Mitrione entered the cage with a clean slate and looking to make an impression.
Mitrione comes in close and is clobbered with a wide-reaching orthodox blast from over the top and is dropped within the first half minute of the opening stanza by Samoa’s Carl Seumanutafa.
Thanks to the experience of world-renowned official “Big John” McCarthy, the fight progress when it appears that “Meathead” is just the next in line to fall in his first fight post-UFC.
A Rear-Naked Choke attempt draws “oohs and ahs” from the fans, but Mitrione stays composed. Seumanutafa isn’t glued to Mitrione’s back the way he needs to be as he spins around to take the offensive position.
The "Ultimate Fighter 10" competitor is briefly engaged in Seumanutafa’s guard but looks to dive on him like a fighter pilot. From there his legs are tossed aside like a ragdoll as Mitrione gets the side-control knockout.
